Q: What is Accounting for Kids Day?
A: Accounting for KidsŪ Day is an annual community service event. CPAs and other business volunteers visit elementary school classrooms to teach students the fundamental concepts of financial literacy through an interactive financial game. No experience is required.

Q: When is the next Accounting for KidsŪ Day?
A:  Wednesday, November 13, 2019.

Q: What is the time commitment for a teacher and the classroom?
A: Approximately three hours the morning of the event.  The hours will vary depending on the schools; schedule, but generally 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. are the standard hours.

Q: How many volunteers will there be in each classroom?
A:  Four to five volunteers are recommended for each classroom of 25-30 students.  We encourage organizations and firms to sign up in teams.

Q: What is the time commitment?

To fully experience Accounting for KidsŪ Day, we encourage volunteers to attend a one-hour training session in person or on line to understand the basic content of the game and other best practices to be taught at least a week before the event.

Q: Do I have to be a CPA or a member of The Ohio Society to participate in Accounting for KidsŪ Day?
A:  No. We encourage Society members and all other business professionals to recruit co-workers, friends, and colleagues to be part of the event.
